It is very important that your torso length and the back length of your sack match approximately, especially when you are using a trekking bag with a bigger capacity- around 40-50lt. and above. Please note that your Torso length is not related to your height. Note: When using a bag of smaller capacity for example, when on a day-trek with a 15-30lt. bag, you don’t have to worry about matching the back-length. How to measure Torso Length

1. Encircle the back of your neck with fingers and bend your head. Feel for the most prominent bump on your spine.
2. Alternatively, standing up straight, bend your head and feel for the most prominent bump on your spine.
3. This is the C7 vertebra and is located slightly above your shoulder line.
4. Now feel for the top of your Hip Bones (Iliac Crest)
5. Draw an imaginary horizontal line from the Iliac Crest towards your spine.
6. Now measure the length from your C7 vertebra to this imaginary point on your back.
7. This is your Torso Length.

Back Length of Sack

  Do not worry if the sack is slightly smaller than your torso length. However, a sack with a larger back-length compared to your torso is not advisable.
